Who are they?
CAREMÍ Women’s Professional Training Center
The CAREMÍ Center started a project in 2018 to increase educational opportunities for women in Greater Santo Domingo, with the cooperation and help of the Provincial Council of Jaén and the Aliatar Foundation.
In this context, cooking, baking, and sewing courses are being offered. The Youth Club for girls and teenagers from 8 to 16 years old is currently running, as well as the Crochet and Cross-Stitch Embroidery Club.
We are putting forth our best effort to promote job placement and the development of micro-businesses for women in Santo Domingo. We also aim to promote Dominican cuisine through the Cooking Club as an element of societal identity, especially starting this year as the Dominican Republic works to turn Dominican Gastronomy into a country brand and increase the availability of typical national food in all restaurants and hotels.
